Bronze Sponsor (US$1,000): Richmond Landcare Inc Through Australian government funding, a partnership between Richmond Landcare (a community organisation with volunteers and local farmers) and Industry & Investment NSW has established several long-term trials on ground-proofing biochar in industries including mixed cropping, grazing, macadamia, coffee and rice. Currently, over 220 field plots are comparing different biochars with farmer practice. Apart from analysis of yields, the project is assessing long term changes to soil chemistry and biology, and is focused on measuring emissions of non-CO2 GHGs from soil.
